Job Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role contributes to safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

In his quality of Electrical Maintenance Technician, the Employee shall have the following responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in line with company reporting requirements.
  • Assist in implementing condition-based, predictive maintenance programs and monitoring equipment performance.
  • Ensure all electrical tools are in good condition and calibrated.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring no oil or debris is near electrical equipment and components.
  • Collaborate with operations and teams to plan and execute maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to plant operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and operational availability
  • Assist in routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment (motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, control panels, cabling systems)
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment failures and downtime
  • Assist in fault diagnosis and report abnormalities to supervisors
  • Participate in plant shutdowns, overhauls, and emergency repairs
  • Assist in installation, wiring, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
  • Perform basic electrical tasks such as cable pulling, termination support, and panel cleaning
  • Ensure proper labeling and housekeeping of electrical installations
  • Maintain tools and testing equipment in good working condition
  • Record maintenance activities and update logs/checklist
  • Perform other activities as may be assigned by the maintenance manager/supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or equivalent to that degree/ Engineering diploma with relevant experience
  • 3 years’ experience (at least 2 years’ experience in power Industry).
  • Good level (written and spoken) in English and French (optional)
  • Proficiently in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Power Point
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to think logically, read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, electrical testing equipment, and maintenance software.
  • Good problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across operations and engineering teams.
  • Comfortable working with small wires and precise terminations.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or offshore environments during emergencies.
  • Commitment to HSE compliance and safe work practices
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to utilize 3Cs
  • Familiar with CG health and safety standards and the ability to enforce company HSE standards as well as environmental management plans as required providing a safe and healthy work site
  • Proficiently in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point and MS Teams 
  • Good level (written and spoken) in English
