Exciting Career Opportunity at the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) – Plumber 

Are you an experienced plumbing professional committed to delivering high-quality maintenance services? The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) is looking for a Plumber to join its Property Management and Performance team. 

The Plumber will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems across RSSB properties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient water supply, drainage, and sanitation services. 

Reporting directly to the Lead Maintenance, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high standards across RSSB facilities through preventive and corrective plumbing maintenance.

The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) has the mandate to manage and promote social security in Rwanda. RSSB’s vision is to provide a comprehensive social security system that caters to the diverse social security needs of the population. RSSB plays an important role in realising Vision 2050 and the National Strategy for Transformation. 

RSSB manages six social security schemes: Pension, Occupational Hazards, Medical scheme, CBHI, Maternity Leave Benefits and EjoHeza (Long-term Saving Scheme).

Key Duties and Responsibilities  

  1. Read and interpret plumbing diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings. 
  1. Install, maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems. 
  1. Inspect plumbing infrastructure and perform routine maintenance. 
  1. Diagnose plumbing faults and recommend appropriate solutions. 
  1. Repair or replace pipes, fixtures, valves, pumps, and fittings. 
  1. Ensure compliance with plumbing regulations, standards, and safety requirements. 
  1. Support and guide maintenance teams on plumbing works. 
  1. Collaborate with caretakers to identify and address plumbing concerns. 
  1. Advise management on plumbing standards and best practices. 
  1. Report plumbing incidents and maintenance issues to supervisors. 
  1. Perform any other duties assigned by management. 

Key Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate must have at least: 

  • Diploma (A1) in Plumbing and Sanitary Systems or A2 qualification supplemented by five years of relevant experience. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience, including at least two years in plumbing installation, operation, or maintenance. 
  • Experience in routine and preventive maintenance activities. 
  • Professional certifications will be an added advantage.
