Job Title: Maintenance Engineer for a Commercial space
Job Summary: We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our as our Senior Maintenance engineer for Masterpiece. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep of Masterpiece’s infrastructure, including resolving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fit-out issues, as well as coordinating all other maintenance / fit-out activities found in the space.
Salary Range: RWF 500,000 Net salary.
Pre-requisites:
- Strong written and oral command in English is critical
- Mature, clear-minded, and determined individual
- The ability to multitask, and demonstrate sound judgment is absolutely required.
- Excellent with Google Sheets & Google Drive.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates quickly and accurately for repair, renovation, or maintenance works.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and fit-out issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to obtain quotations and ensure timely execution of works.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all building systems and ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Manage and track maintenance requests from tenants or management, ensuring closure within deadlines.
- Verify quality of work and materials delivered by contractors against agreed standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, service contracts, and warranties.
- Support budgeting by preparing cost projections and reports for management.
- Ensure all works comply with safety, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide quick technical inputs during emergencies or urgent breakdowns.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Electrical, Civil
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data input.
- Proficiency in Facility Management
- Fluency in English & Comfortable using a computer (Google Sheets, Google Drive)
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
Soft Skills:
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
