Agritech Implementation Engineer at UpGrow Rwanda
The Agritech Implementation Engineer is responsible for setting up, optimizing, and maintaining aeroponic tower systems and related controlled-environment agriculture infrastructure. The role focuses on technical installation, pump and irrigation configuration, nutrient delivery calibration, system testing, and performance monitoring to ensure consistent crop growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Install and configure aeroponic towers, pumps, timers, and water management systems
• Set up greenhouse electrical connections, sensors, and environmental controls
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues across all tower components
• Conduct nutrient mix preparation, calibration, and system flushing schedules
• Record and analyze crop performance data during pilot testing
• Collaborate with agronomists and project managers to refine processes
• Train staff on daily tower operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
Skills and Qualifications
• Background in engineering, preferably mechanical, agricultural, or electromechanical
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with irrigation or hydroponic systems (aeroponic experience is a plus)
• Understanding of nutrient delivery systems and plant growth requirements
• Ability to work in greenhouse environments and handle hands-on installation work
• Strong problem solving and field implementation skills
This role ensures reliable tower operation and supports the successful deployment of aeroponic technology for high-efficiency crop production.
NOTE: The role includes a 3 -week onboarding period to study and familiarize with aeroponic tower assembly and related operational procedures.
