Electrical & Mechanical Technician at Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV) ( Deadline: 30/09/2025)
Job Summary:
The Electrical & Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and related infrastructure at Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV). The role ensures reliable power supply, proper functioning of mechanical systems, and a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, outlets, lighting, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults to restore service promptly.
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, ventilation units, and other equipment used in the Village.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend lifespan.
- Monitor energy and equipment performance to identify efficiency improvements.
- Respond quickly to electrical or mechanical maintenance requests from staff or departments.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with Rwandan electrical, mechanical, and safety standards.
- Assist in other general maintenance activities as required.
Education & Experience
- Certificate or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering/Technology.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably in institutional or residential settings.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, tools, and repair techniques.
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Good physical stamina and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to technical standards.
