Position Overview: Job Workplace: Kigali, Rwanda
The Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing processes related to wastewater treatment systems. This role involves applying engineering principles and advanced technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of wastewater treatment operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize wastewater treatment processes, including biological, chemical, and physical treatment methods.
- Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to assess the performance of treatment systems.
- Develop and implement process control strategies, monitoring, and automation systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of wastewater treatment systems with overall facility operations.
- Perform data analysis and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in troubleshooting process-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation, including process design manuals and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding wastewater treatment and discharge.
- Provide technical support and training to plant operators and maintenance staff on new processes and technologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in wastewater treatment engineering.
Requirements
More than 12 projects experience of waste water treatment and sewer network
Qualifications:
- At least a master’s degree in sanitary engineering or environmental engineering
- 14 years of experience in wastewater treatment process engineering or related roles.
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and chemical analysis.
- Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, HYSYS).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with process automation and control systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable practices and technologies in wastewater management.
