The Maintenance Officer ensures the smooth operation and upkeep of the hotel infrastructure, creating a safe, functional, and pleasant environment for both guests and staff. Success in this position means timely and high-quality maintenance, minimal disruption to operations, and proactive identification of issues before they escalate.
Role in the Organization:
This role is essential to guest satisfaction and operational continuity, supporting every department by keeping the physical assets of the hotel in top condition.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs across the property.
· Perform routine repairs on systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
· Handle emergency maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
· Maintain logs and documentation for all maintenance tasks performed.
· Monitor inventory of tools, parts, and materials and request replenishment as needed.
· Collaborate with external service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and report hazards or needed improvements.
Qualifications:
· Technical diploma or certification in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or building maintenance.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in facility or hotel maintenance.
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
· Basic computer literacy for maintenance logging.
· Excellent time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
· Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy equipment when needed.
