Draftsman at tecGrw (Deadline: 13/06/2025)

About the Role:
tecGrw is seeking a skilled Draftsman to support the design and implementation of a Rooftop Farm to be installed on the roof of Kigali City Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and layout plans based on the specifications provided by our project team.
This is a project-based role, suited for someone with a working understanding of rooftop installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 2D and 3D technical drawings for the rooftop farm using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Interpret sketches, verbal instructions, and site conditions into accurate layouts and installation diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineers, agronomists, and installers to incorporate mechanical, plumbing, and structural elements in the draft.
- Factor in water flow, nutrient distribution, light orientation, and safety/ access considerations into the design.
- Ensure all drawings meet applicable standards, are easy to interpret, and are tailored to rooftop conditions.
- Modify and update existing drawings based on feedback or on-site changes.
- Participate in occasional site visits to verify dimensions and understand the installation environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Draftsman, preferably in agriculture, architecture, or mechanical fields.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting tools.
- General understanding of Rooftop farms, their components (pumps, pipes, grow beds, reservoirs), and functional layout.
- Familiarity with rooftop structures and challenges (weight load, drainage, accessibility).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Based in or willing to work from Kigali, Rwanda for the duration of the project.
Duration:
- Estimated project duration: 4–6 weeks, with potential for future engagements on similar projects.
